Prayer is a holy conversation we are invited to have with the Most High God. It aligns our thoughts and feelings with the Holy Spirit and changes our perspective and actions. Prayer places into the arms of Jesus Christ that which he came to redeem and restore. Prayer changes everything.
There is a prayer list each week in our bulletin. It holds the names of people who have either asked for prayer for themselves or for someone else. Some are for chronic health issues, others are for people with cancer, and we pray for the strengthening of their souls and healing of their bodies. Some are people with mental health issues, where clouds have descended and the world seems to have darkened. We pray for treatment and restoration of beauty and clarity into their lives.
Because the details are not printed in the bulletin you are unaware of the story behind each name, but for each name there is a reason, a cry of someone’s heart asking us to pray. And I invite you to do so with the assurance that their story is known by God.
Each day so much feels out of our control. The chaos and confusion of life can become overwhelming. We can easily withdraw, join in the chaos, or fold our arms in judgment and ignore what is in front of us. Instead, pray. The most powerful force in the universe is moved by prayer. Pray, my friends, pray.
Jeremiah 29:11-12 For surely I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans for your welfare and not for harm, to give you a future with hope. Then when you call upon me and come and pray to me, I will hear you.
See you Sunday,
