This Sunday is one of my favorite mornings of the year—Bluegrass Sunday! I'll have my flannel on and my toes will be a-tapping as we switch up our normal sound. This will be the 6th time we've had a Bluegrass Sunday, but if it will be your first time, I know you'll go home humming the tunes.

We started this tradition as a way to celebrate the ways God was at work at The Downtown Church in the previous year, while also looking forward to the new things God will do in the future. During the last song every year, we bring our Pledge Cards forward to participate with God in making more of heaven right here on earth.

We mailed out those Pledge Cards a few weeks ago—and some have already started trickling in!—but if you didn't get one and would like to help the church plan and prepare an accurate budget for 2027 we will have extra cards printed and ready this Sunday. You can also make a pledge by filling out this short form.

I look forward to enjoying a beautiful fall night with you all at Pizza Night this Saturday, and then celebrating at Bluegrass Sunday the next morning.

See you soon,
Brian

This is you last chance to RSVP for our Pizza Night at Millsap Farms this Saturday, October 17, from 5:00-7:30pm! Make plans to join us for pizza, live music, a farm tour, and a night of fun with your church family. RSVP at this short form. This is your FINAL WARNING!

The Missouri Conference of the UMC is conducting research in partnership with our entire denomination to better understand race and culture within our connection and congregations. To take this short survey, click here to be redirected. The results will be shared in spring of 2027 as part of our ongoing learning about Missouri's culture. Thank you in advance for your time and thoughts as we work on creating a culture that values unity in Christ and diversity in the Kingdom.

Are you in those college-aged years, between 18-24? Do you like food? Well, we've got a plan for you! After worship on October 25th, any and all people in that age range are invited to a short meal. We'll gather once the service is over and then decide on somewhere close by where we can all walk. We'll cover the cost, we just want to get to know you more and connect with other people your age. No pressure. No agenda. Just a chance to break bread with others.
