Greetings from The Downtown Church! This is a bi-weekly email with information about events, updates, and other fun things from the leadership of the church.

Hello Downtown Church Family! It’s two weeks until Christmas, but we continue to do our best to savor the season. I hope you find moments of peace today and in the days to come. You have an open invitation to a Hallmark movie and some large-dog snuggles at my house if your cheer is running a little low.

And, we still have lots of OTHER ways for you to gather with us!

DEC 14 - The Third Sunday of Advent - JOY! Coffee and treats at 10:15, worship at 10:30. At 5:30pm our youth (6th-12th grade) will have their Christmas party. There will be food and fun. Bring along a white elephant present for a gift exchange game.

DEC 21 - The Fourth Sunday of Advent - Love! Also High Church Sunday! We’ll dust off our robes and a few formal traditions to add a little pomp to our Advent season. Appearance by the Not-Choir Choir! 10:15 coffee etc, 10:30 worship.

DEC 24 - Christmas Eve Worship at 6:30pm. There will be candles and carols and our (in)famous no-rehearsal kids’ pageant. Come a little early to grab a costume for anyone who’d like to participate! No lines to memorize! A squeaky donkey! Barely-managed mayhem! Our Christmas Eve offering will be shared between the church’s benevolence fund and Crosslines.

See you Sunday,
Heather

Our annual Christmas Eve Worship service will be at 6:30pm and feature all your favorite things: classic Christmas carols, a no-rehearsal children's pageant (it's as crazy as that sounds), prayers, a message, communion, and Silent Night by candlelight. Join us as we celebrate!
Last year during Advent, we introduced you to the many pets of The Downtown Church. This year, we'd like to hear about your favorite ornament and why it's special to you. If you'd like to be part of this digital Advent calendar, just email us back and we'll get you all the details. The countdown begins on December 1st, so we'll need 24 different ornaments to showcase during this fun Advent calendar.
We had so much fun at our High Church Sunday back in February, we thought we should do it again. This time it will be late in the Advent season, so we'll plan on singing many of our favorite Christmas hymns and carols. This unique service will be much more traditional—there will be acolytes, a choir, liturgy, and the pastor is going to wear a robe . Make sure to join the fun on Sunday, December 21.
