Greetings from The Downtown Church! This is a bi-weekly email with information about events, updates, and other fun things from the leadership of the church.

Hello friends! Since we've entered the hottest part of 2025 so far, the past couple of weeks have seemed like the PERFECT time to do some projects around the church grounds.

Last week the parking lot got it's final sealing and painting. Give it a nice jig next time you walk across it. It's so lovely!

This week we got a little help from our friends to do some beautifying to some of the other outdoor spaces. Some of the friends were our own dear members, and some were volunteers with The United Way Ozarks' Day of Caring. They weeded, mulched, cleaned, painted, planted, watered and so much more! Take a look here, or better yet walk over there next time you're around.

We love being part of a neighborhood, part of a community. Having a yard "glow up" for us isn't about being showy. It's about making space for our neighbors to come spend time with us. It's about being inviting and open. It's about embodying Matthew 5 where it says, "Keep open house; be generous with your lives. By opening up to others, you'll prompt people to open up with God."

In the coming days those spaces will get used to host a statewide event for Good Dads. We'll have First Friday Artwalk parties in August and September. We'll see folks stopping by to eat their lunch under one of our umbrellas, or take a short rest in the grass. Isn't that marvelous? And we hope each one of those folks experiences welcome...and even love.

We're so grateful to those who spent their time (and sweat!!) this week to help our hopes be real. So many of you find ways to participate in that welcoming. It takes a village to be a good neighbor! And we're delighted by each and every one of you.

We love you bunches!

Everyone's invited THIS SUNDAY EVENING to join us for game night! Bring a game and snack to share. Bring a friend! We had a ball last time. It's just a big gathering for fun - nothing super formal or planned. You can RSVP by replying to this email.
Hey fam! Mark you calendars for our annual Church Picnic. We'll gather at Phelps Grove Park pavilion on Sunday, August 3, from about 4:30-7pm. More details about what to bring and how you can help will come in the next few weeks, but add it to your calendar. It's going to be fun...and hopefully not too hot!

We've been asked to help out at the SPS and Crosslines Back to School Bash on Saturday, July 26. Specifically, they need help with emptying trash cans and putting new liners in them. If you can help, click this link and signup for one of the shifts in WASTE MANAGEMENT.
