Greetings from The Downtown Church! This is a bi-weekly email with information about events, updates, and other fun things from the leadership of the church.

Things are starting to look a little greener around town. My daffodils are poking up through the mulch and the grass is coming back to life in starts and spurts. Spring break is staring us right in the face and warm weather will be here before you know it. But don't let this season pass you by.

No, not the last bits of winter. Lent. Have you slowed down and savored a few minutes of quiet? An honest prayer? A conversation with God? We are talking about prayer every Sunday in Lent, but prayer can happen anytime and all the time. You just have to make a little space for it. So before Easter arrives and the hectic summer schedules ramp up, take time to slow down. Join us on Sundays, or Wednesdays, or just a few minutes on your drive to work.

And then we'll gather on Easter morning to celebrate how the world changed, and new life is possible for all of us!

See you Sunday,
Brian

If you haven't made it to our Wednesday night Vespers yet, you are really missing some good stuff! And we're not just talking about the delicious soups. You still have time to make it! Every Wednesday until Easter, we will share soup and bread in the basement before we head into the sanctuary for a short Vespers service. Soups are ready at 5:30pm and Vespers starts around 6:15pm. If you'd like to bring a soup to share, we would be so grateful. We need 4-5 crockpots each Wednesday, along with some bread to share. Just email us back if you'd like to help.
This is one of our months to serve at Crosslines Community Outreach. If you are looking for an easy volunteer opportunity, this is your chance. We are responsible for one shift on Friday, March 27. We need 12 people to help clients shop for food in the warehouse from 8:45am-Noon. You can signup at the church on Sundays or just email us back and we can add you to the list. Thank you!
We touched on this briefly last Sunday, but we are VERY excited about all the new faces we've been seeing in worship. We ran the numbers and figured out there are about 50 more people here on Sundays than there were a year ago. More people means less space, and we barely squeezed into the sanctuary on Christmas Eve! So to help make room for everyone, we will have two services on Easter Sunday. One at 8am and one at 10:30am. We will still have a breakfast at 9am, followed by an Easter Egg Hunt, but now you have two options for Easter worship!
