First of all, I want to thank you for such a wonderful 2025 at The Downtown Church. It was a great year of learning, growth, and dreaming. And as we step deeper into 2026, we're excited for even more great things.
To help guide our work, we spent a lot of time last year developing a strategic plan to help us focus on four areas. We had a staff retreat in the summer, more meetings and planning with the operational staff in the fall, and a board retreat in October to finish our plan. The following four areas are where we plan to focus this year.
- Radical Hospitality
- Spiritual Recovery & Support
- Discipleship Pathways
- Facility Stewardship
If you are wondering what exactly we mean by these four items, you can find more detail at this document—it was just too long to put in one email. You can also watch the entire recording of the Town Hall meeting if you'd like to see and hear what went on. And as I reiterated in worship, there was no big news discussed. This meeting was just an attempt to continue communicating well and to show transparency from the staff and board.
Again, thank you so much for continuing to live into our vision of being a place where Christ and the community intersect. This vision has been so instrumental to our drive and momentum, and it still excites us today!
