Greetings from The Downtown Church! This is a bi-weekly email with information about events, updates, and other fun things from the leadership of the church.

It's been almost two weeks since we gathered together to celebrate Easter, and all I can say is thank you! It was a morning of new things for The Downtown Church, and you all handled with grace. We had services at 8am and 10:30am with about 400 people between the two. About 200 people passed through the basement for an Easter breakfast and all of you volunteers made the process smooth and easy. And we collected over $5,000 to continue our work and support of McGregor Elementary. In fact, if you'd like to volunteer at McGregor events on April 24 or May 20, just email us back!

And now, after taking a breath, we are off and running again with a new series on Genesis, a new Sunday Morning Group—Sanctuary—and plans for even more fun this summer.

We are Easter people, and it's my prayer that the joy of Easter propels each of us forward to share the good news of God's grace to all people.

See you Sunday,
Brian

We have a new Sunday Morning opportunity starting THIS SUNDAY at 9am. This 5-week class will be led by Seth & Beth Lancaster, and the goal is to provide a safe space to discuss questions, doubts, church trauma & baggage, and a whole host of other topics. Deconstruction has been a big word in churches for the past several years, but we don't want people to tear faith down and leave it in ruins. We want you to find a healthy place where you can build it back up. RSVP for this group right here or sign up on Sundays.
We want to help stock the shelves at the Antioch UMC food pantry. Bring canned goods, nonperishables, and other staples that will help fill baskets and bags of people in our community. There is a box in the gathering area to collect the donations. Our friends at Antioch told us about the increased demand they've seen, which started back in the fall. Thanks for your generosity!
Rev. Laura Murphy from the Missouri United Methodist Foundation will lead a 90-minute seminar called Putting Your House In Order on Sunday, May 3, from 12-1:30pm after worship. She will help answer all your questions about estate planning, wills, final wishes, funerals, memories, financial documents, and much more! A light lunch is provided. RSVP right here!
