Greetings from The Downtown Church! This is a bi-weekly email with information about events, updates, and other fun things from the leadership of the church.

As the school year comes to a close, we wanted to take a moment to celebrate the partnership between The Downtown Church and McGregor Elementary. McGregor is full of magnificent faculty, staff, and students. It is such a delight to provide support for the work they’re doing there. Because of YOUR generosity of time and money, in the last quarter alone, we: provided snacks for all the students during MAP testing. We bought lunch for all the teachers to celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week. We sent volunteers to host a Glow Party in April. And next week, the year crescendos with Field Day – where we have a record 22 folks from our congregation who will volunteer for a day packed with fun and activity!

We’re so proud of the students and all their accomplishments. We’re humbled to see the hard, selfless work of the faculty and staff. And, we’re overjoyed that this congregation shows up in ways practical and relational for our marvelous McGregor friends. That's love! And, we'll do it all again next year! If you’d like to be more involved, please reach out.

One last thing: to all our own students, parents, faculty and staff – congratulations on *almost* completing another school year! We’re proud of you too! Now, let’s get to SUMMER!

See you Sunday,
Heather

There is another Next Steps Class after worship this Sunday, May 17. This is the place to learn about membership at The Downtown Church, our history, our vision, or any other questions you want answered. Join Pastor Brian and maybe a few other staff members for lunch and casual conversations. Childcare is available if you need it. RSVP for the Next Steps Class here.
Our next First Friday Art Walk Party is coming up on June 5. We will have the scrumptious sounds of Caduceus—The Doctor's Band playing some great jazz music, lots of popcorn and lemonade, and arts and crafts for the kids. It's all FREE at the corner of Walnut & Jefferson, so come on down to get your fill of jazz, popcorn, or just do some people watching in Downtown Springfield. If you'd like to help, email back and let us know.
We are collecting food for several organizations currently. You can grab a "leaf" off the wall in the main hallway for the kids at Rare Breed and the Youth Connect Drop-In Shelter, OR you can bring any shelf-stable food item for the Antioch UMC Food Pantry. However you can help, we appreciate your generosity as we help meet the needs of our community.
