Last Sunday after worship, about 25 of us gathered with Nicole and Carla to discuss a few updates and improvements in our children's ministry. We talked about the ways we are trying to limit distractions, how to engage the kids better, and how to keep them safe.
Some of us were staff. Some were new parents. Some were grandparents. Some weren't parents at all. I loved seeing the variety of people because it takes all of us—the entire church family—to raise kids. It can't just be the parents who are volunteering. It takes 4-6 adults every Sunday to make sure we have enough leaders upstairs. That's a lot of people!
They aren't paid. They aren't professionals. Just people who believe teaching our kids about the love of God and the life of Jesus. If you are looking for a place to serve at the church, I want to encourage you to reach out to Nicole. Give it a shot. It may not be for you. But who knows...it just might! I'm getting a firsthand experience upstairs this Sunday. If I survive, I promise you will too.
